❤❤❤❤❤❤❤AMAZING VOCALIST AND TRIO!!! KEEP MAKING THE MUSICAL MAGIC!!!🎵🎉⭐️💋🎊
Best in the world. Almost everything that has to do with Tierney, in terms of music, is the art of Jazz at it's best. In my opinion. I can't find anything above. Ok, The Yellowjackets... lightly a different genre. Michel Petrucciani. Keith Jarrett. And so on. Mmmh, there are some. But this is a big part of it.
Profoundly beautiful. ...
I would like to see her collaborate more with clint eastwood. They collaborated on the sully film with the theme which was really great
I cant hear this enough. The pianist Is awesome, too. Great .
...Christian Jacob. Soon good pianist.
So wonderful
My favourite rendition of this song anywhere. A beautifully simple melody with such a powerful meaning... and performed the way it should be; slowly, with just vocals and piano = perfection. Smile is my favourite song in my 29 Years on this earth. Have loved this tune for over 10 years.
Awesome modern scat version she remember me my all time favorite scat singer Anita O'Day
I get no kick from champagne, Mere alcohol, Doesn't thrill me at all, So tell me, why should it be true, That I get a kick out of you. Some get a kick from cocaine, I'm sure that if, I took even one sniff, It would bore me terrifically, too, Yet I get a kick out of you. I get a kick every time I see you, Standing there before me, I get a kick though it's clear to see, You obviously don't adore me. Some get a kick in a plane, Flying too high, With some gal in the sky, Is my idea of nothing to do, But I get a kick out of you. I get a kick...out of you.
I was just going to comment on the pianist when I noticed Nick Moore's comments, so I will just agree that he is Killer... i personally will send any of the 15 dislikes a pack of Q-tips...I have only recently been acquainted with Tierny through my new Sirius XM subscription...to be blunt, I'd marry her in a heartbeat, just to hear sing live everyday...
Hip
Awesome!
What a great solo...geez
WAUWWWWWIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I shurley get a kick out of you you you: Tierney Sutton!!!!!! xxxx
Great band, great song, great jazz and what a super voice. It's all good.
S2 ;-)
The Pianist is incredible!
Yes, he is. And here's a fun little factoid: He (Christian Jacob) is the husband of one of my childhood friends, Wilder (Ferguson) Jacobs; Who happens to be the daughter of the late, great/brilliant trumpeter, Maynard Ferguson. - Such talent among all of them.
How very interesting!
incredible !!!
great version. super piano solo. Tierney is awesome. thanks!
Beautifull
SUPER
beautiful
great style
io amo questa donna!
Best jazz singer in ages! Someone who has put in her time. Brave!
I was in her House saturday
Tierney is one of the best current jazz vocalists! I get a 'kick out of' her for sure!
charlie chaplin would be proud. thanks. tierney, so good!
wow is right!
Gorgeous!
Yep, he sure plays a mean piano.
✭✭✭✭✭ Though I didn't see one, Mr. Jacob no doubt keeps a pitcher of ice cold water near by to pour on his piano when the keys start to smoke. Can't be too careful ya know. :-)
dear lord listen to that piano play
not a patch on shearstons version, nowhere remotely near
This blew me away when I heard it on CD -- it's even more impressive seeing it! BRAVO!
@ThatMysteryPianist I know her personally and i can say that she's one of the nicest people I've ever met
This is an absolutely incredible performance, can't believe it has so few views!
Amazing TALENT !!WELL DONE GUY'S
@LIQUIDJAZZ I wholeheartedly agree. The first time I run across this video was when I was researching this standard for my repertoire. I now play it every night at "my" restaurant. This version is one of the best I've heard of this song. Victor
The reason may be that like most vocalists she cultivates her rhythm section and crafts original arrangements that are executed with unfailing, predictable precision. But Ella was like the great musician who simply laid it on the line, trusting their chops and knowledge of the jazz tradition to stay even with or out-create the withering competition that had joined them on the bandstand. Tierney is extremely good and polished, but Gambarini is like Bird or Diz, willing to risk it all each time.
Tierney's on the top tier with a mere several other vocalists, perhaps distinguished by her understanding of the singular brilliance of the Sinatra/Riddle tone poems of the Capitol years. Still, Roberta keeps looming larger as the complete musician, embodying the African-American art form in its entirety, making a point of seeking out and playing with all the greats--from Griffin to Jimmy Woode--before they passed. James Moody and Hank Jones were sincere in their calling her the best since Ella.
This is just beautiful! So creative and different. Your singing is great, Christian's solo also great!!. -- Fernando Gelbard
Great interpretation of a brilliant song. Love it.
think you fantastic wish you would come there Rob Ziegler Johannesburg, southafrica
@wrland I know, I was tripping out when it started up. Epic :)
Oh God!What a Great Band!Tierney is Beautifull! But Christian Is The Best!!!!
I had the opportunity to meet her today at my college :) she is really nice and very cool, her band is superb
Everyone's allowed their opinion! Personally, I find this easier to listen to if I'm not watching her. I don't feel much in the way of warmth or communication in her performance, which is why I scrolled down to read the comments...I then found it less clinical and more enjoyable to listen too.
@ThatMysteryPianist - I don´t understand wy keep secret about your knowledge. Normally it´s something to share with people. So tell us about these musicians you´ve played. Tell us who are those "swing deeply" singers...
Great! Tierney is a Quality vocalist all the way! I loved her on Kelley Love's 'Foolin' with the Pandemonia Orchestra.
